Pre-Combine talkLooking at the draft projections ahead of the Combine, there are some things that stand out as disconnected from how the actual draft might play out. One big one is Miami Hurricanes EDGE Akheem Mesidor. An overaged prospect with somewhat limited athletic ability, Mesidor’s outstanding production in his final season has many evaluations projecting him to come off the board in the first-round range where the Detroit Lions are picking. That could very well change during the workouts in Indianapolis this week, and as teams find younger players with more athletic upside and promise.
