The Daily DLP welcomes back old friend Emory Hunt to talk about the 2026 NFL Draft haul for the Lions. Hunt, aka Mr. Football Gameplan, reviews all of the Lions selections and offers up his analysis of how they fit in Detroit.
With first-round pick Blake Miller, the offensive background at Clemson helps convince Hunt that he’s a strong fit for Detroit. Hunt is a big fan of second-round pick Derrick Moore and his blend of power and speed off the edge. Keith Abney is also a highlight, and Hunt sees him with the ability to win a prominent role in the Lions defense right away.
In terms of the undrafted rookies, Hunt offers up insider analysis on Morgan State LB Erick Hunter. There is a lot to work with, and his work at the HBCU Showcase makes Hunt believe there’s a bright NFL future.
The show also brings up the grind of doing live television and radio during the draft. It’s a good look behind the curtain at what all goes into what you see and hear over the air when things are live. Plus, the underappreciated toll of playing in both the UFL and the NFL in the same year.
