The salary cap situation is about to open WIDE up. Houston has major opportunities to create cap relief through restructures — and thanks to Nick Caserio’s contract structure (six of seven major deals on 3-year terms), the Texans have real flexibility.
But here’s the truth: that money MUST be invested in the offense.
According to Over The Cap’s Offensive Spending vs. Output (2025), Houston had a low cap hit and a BAD offense, finishing with a -0.02 EPA per play. The only teams worse in that low-spend/low-output category? The Saints, Jets, Raiders, and Titans. That’s not company you want to keep.
This puts two things in perspective:
