The Pittsburgh Steelers may have the oldest roster in the NFL, but they also have plenty of reason for new hopes. Christopher Carter explains why, and how Mike McCarthy’s plans could set the stage for whoever is the next Steelers franchise quarterback to return the franchise to being a Super Bowl contender. While Aaron Rodgers can help the Steelers compete for this season, the true aim of the year is for a blueprint to be established for future offenses.
While the Steelers have drafted Drew Allar and Will Howard, the first week of college football showed the potential for several elite quarterback prospects who could be in next year’s NFL Draft. Arch Manning, Jayden Maiava, Dante Moore, Darien Mensah, Trinidad Chambliss, LaNorris Sellers and other quarterbacks all showed that the next quarterback class might be the one the Steelers need to find their next franchise quarterback.
Finally, Chris also looks at the Steelers’ defense and its best path to returning to being a top unit.
