The Pittsburgh Steelers’ top cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was left out of ESPN’s top 10 NFL cornerback rankings. Christopher Carter and Nick Farabaugh explain why that list is wrong. Porter’s shutdown cornerback skills have made him one of the best erasers of top receivers in the NFL. Even if he’s not among the top elite cornerbacks like Pat Surtain II, Derek Stingley Jr., and Christian Gonzalez, he shouldn’t be ranked beneath others like Denzel Ward, Jaycee Horn and Cooper DeJean. But can Porter make the leap to elite in 2026?
Also, Chris and Nick answer a fan’s question about what’s taking Porter and the Steelers so long to sign a contract extension. Are there problems between Porter’s agent and Omar Khan or is it just a matter of time before the new deal gets signed?
Finally, Chris and Nick answer another fan’s question about the quarterback room. Mike McCarthy may like his quarterbacks, but both Chris and Nick see it highly unlikely that the Steelers will keep all of Aaron Rodgers, Will Howard, Drew Allar and Mason Rudolph.
